STARRING ACADEMY AWARD™ WINNER
KEVIN SPACEY
BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- Anchor Bay Films announced today the pick up
of the comedy Father of Invention starring Academy Award™ winning actor Kevin
Spacey (Horrible Bosses, American Beauty),
Camilla Belle (10,000 BC, When a Stranger
Calls), Heather Graham (Austin

LLC and debuted as an official selection at the Berlin International Film
Festival. Anchor Bay Films has acquired
all distribution rights in the U.S., U.K. as well as Australia and New
Zealand. Bill Clark, President of Anchor
Bay Entertainment, made the announcement.
“Father of Invention offers two hours of great laughs with a
talented cast,” remarked Clark. “We have
no doubt that audiences worldwide will enjoy it as much as our worldwide team will
enjoy working on it.”
“Kevin Spacey is one of the most versatile actors in our business
and this film is proof of that,” stated Kevin Kasha, Executive Vice President
of Worldwide Acquisitions and Co-productions.
“It’s an excellent cast and Craig Robinson’s recent hits are proof that
he has amazing comedic timing.”
“With the expertise from Anchor Bay Films in the independent film
marketplace as well as the ancillary platforms, they are the perfect strategic
partner for this film,” commented Kia Jam, producer of the film. “We’re looking forward to working with them on
Father
of Invention.”
Kevin Spacey is Robert Axle, an eccentric inventor
turned ego maniacal infomercial guru, who loses it all when one of his
inventions maims thousands of customers. After eight years in a maximum security
prison, Axle is ready to redeem his name and rebuild his billion dollar empire.
But first, he must convince his
estranged 22-year old daughter (Belle) to let him live with her and her quirky,
over-protective roommates. The film
co-stars Craig Robinson (Hot Tub Time
Machine, Pineapple Express) and newcomer Ana Anissimova.
